Lesson Log
Today, we used maps to briefly explore past Presidential Elections. We also discussed voter registration and voter age limits.
Homework: Comparisons between the two major candidates for President were given out to each class. These comparison can be found here.

Lesson Log
Today, we continued taking notes on time and timelines.
Definitions and Notes:
There is no year "0" on a timeline. Most historians say that the year that followed 1BC was 1AD.
B.C. - Before Christ. Time and Events that occurred before the birth of Jesus
A.D. - Anno Domini. Time and Events that occurred from the birth of Jesus to today.
B.C.E. - Before the Common Era. The same time as B.C. but without the Christianity.
C.E. - Common Era. The same time as A.D. but without the Chrisitianity.

I have postponed our quiz until Tuesday.
1st - 4th periods set up bingo boards for review on Monday.
Homework: Current Events Log.
Students were asked to write the following question on the back of there logs:
Which current event that you reported on do you think is the most important? Why?
Remember - Don't just write down headlines. READ. Also, No weather, No personal stories (like b-day party invites) and give detail in your sources.

Lesson Log
Today, progress reports were given out to periods 1-3. They are to be returned signed by Friday, 10/17. Progress reports for periods 4-5 will be given out tomorrow. They will be do back on Monday, 10/20.
Also, a Current Events Log was due today. Few students turned it in. Another, for this week will be due on Friday the 17th.
The last Presidential Debate will be held on tomorrow evening. This is an extra credit opportunity for all.
There will be a quiz on 10/20 going over the geography that we have learned.
Homework: Correct Map Activities from 10/06 for half credit.

Today we looked at three different maps to understand what role geography plays in the real world.
Terms:
Literacy Rate: Amount of people able to read
Life Expectancy: How long, on average, a person can expect to live.
GDP: Gross Domestic Product> The amount of money that a country makes in one year.
GDP Per Capita: The GDP divided by that population. This number shows how well off or poor a county is.
Homework: All periods - Current Events Log; 1st period - fix worksheets that were given to you by the guest teacher. These worksheets will be given back to other classes on Tuesday.
